Fuel Scarcity: Zamfara govt to investigate, sanction erring fuel marketers
Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle.

The Chairman, Zamfara State Taskforce Committee on security, Abubakar Mohammed Dauran has vowed that his committee would deal ruthlessly with independent oil marketers hoarding fuel in their filling stations for selfish interests.

Dauran gave the warning while delivering a statement in his office, in Gusau, over the fuel scarcity rocking the state, describing it as artificial scarcity.

He said the committee has received a series of complaints on why there is fuel scarcity in the state even though there is fuel available in many filling stations in the state.

“The task force sub-committee on petroleum will go round together with representatives from depots and any filling station found guilty will be shut down instantly and its licence will be seized” he added.

Dauran explained that the committee will not fold its hands while some unpatriotic elements try to destabilize the peaceful coexistence in the state by causing untold hardship for innocent residents.

“The committee will also checkmate every filling station with price increase while the federal government has not added a Kobo, on the prices of petroleum products”

He called on the general public to report any filling station found to be hoarding fuel or increased pump price beyond the normal fixed by the government.
