Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has discussed with his U.S. counterpart Antony Blinken the latest developments in Sudan.

The two top diplomats spoke on the efforts exerted to reach a prolonged and sustainable ceasefire that would allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to those who deserve it inside Sudan, the Egyptian Foreign Minister said.
Shoukry stressed the importance of not fueling the conflict in Sudan with the interference of external parties to ensure the stabilization of the ceasefire and the protection of civilians.
For his part, Blinken thanked Egypt for receiving tens of thousands of Sudanese citizens arriving across the border.
He said that the U.S. is ready to provide the necessary support to Egypt to facilitate carrying out this task.
Fighting erupted on April 15 between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum and other parts of the country.
The clashes have killed more than 500 people and wounded over 4,000 others so far, according to Sudan’s health ministry.
