Bandits hit Kaduna hard, abduct babies, Bethel Baptist School students

Bandits have abducted many students of Bethel Baptist School located in Maraban Rido, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State.

The development comes just hours after bandits abducted babies, female nurses and security guards from the residential quarters of the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Centre (NTLC) in Zaria, Kaduna State on Sunday.

Speaking on the abduction of school pupils, a resident who did not want his name mentioned said the bandits invaded the school at about 2am shooting sporadically into the air before kidnapping the students.

According to him, many students were kidnapped but four escaped and ran back to the school.

“Two soldiers were allegedly shot but I cannot confirm if they’re alive or not.

“It is difficult to say the number of students that were abducted,” the source said.

On the abduction of babies Timeline.ng gathered that the bandits stormed the area from a nearby forest and engaged Policemen in a gun battle before they escaped with their victims.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan has confirmed the Sunday's abduction, noting that troops have intensified efforts to rescue the victims.
