The Nigeria Army has launched three special military operations in the South East, South South, South West and North Central to tackle rising insecurity across the geopolitical zones.

The Chief of Army Staff, General Farouk Yahaya, flagged-off the exercises at the Nigeria Army 6 Division Step-up Headquarters in Ahoada, Rivers state.

He said the exercises code-named Exercise Golden Dawn for South East, Exercise Enduring Peace for North Central, and Exercise Still Waters for South South and South West would complement ongoing security operations in the zones.

According to him, the operations were specifically formulated to meet the unique security challenges in the various geopolitical zones.

He said the operations would also checkmate other security challenges like banditary, cultism and kidnapping in the four zones.
