The Minister of Finance and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, says the major challenge that affected the 2022 budget implementation was low oil revenue performance, which according to her trailed by 27.1 percent.

The Minister made this known while presenting an overview of the 2022 budget performance and implementation before the House of Representatives committee on finance as her ministry appeared to defend its budget for 2023 fiscal year.

Members of the committee, including the chairman, James Faleke, however had questions lined for the minister after her presentation, the committee after response went into a close-door meeting with the minister.
