Sen. Gbenga Ashafa, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Federal Housing Authority (FHA), says Federal Government is committed to the timely execution of all its housing projects across the country.

This is contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Public Relations Officer of the FHA, Mr. Kenneth Chigelu, made available to newsmen in Ibadan.

Ashafa spoke at a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony to commence the development of Lots three and six of the AJODA Housing Estate project in Ibadan.

The developers, Messrs Lion Unison Ltd. and Messrs Hygate Ltd., who were among the partners selected to develop the Estate, are in charge of Lots three and six.

Ashafa said the Federal Government placed a high premium on housing infrastructure.

He urged the developers to keep to the terms of the contractual agreement and keep to the timeline for the delivery of the projects.

The managing director admonished the developers to show diligence and professionalism in handling the projects.

In their respective remarks, the Managing Director of Hygate Ltd., Laide Adesanya, and a representative of Lion Unison Ltd., BT Salami, promised to deliver quality jobs.

Adesanya thanked the management of FHA for the opportunity to partner with the authority, promising to ensure that his company deliver the project as scheduled.

He said that his company had been mobilized to the site, promising that by March 2023, about 30 units of bungalows would be delivered out of 219 units expected to be built by his company.

In his remarks, Salami, the representative of Lion Unison Ltd., said his company had concluded site clearing and set to commence construction.

He assured Ashafa and the other management teams of FHA of quality job delivery.

The Lion Unison is expected to construct 82 units of two-bedroom semi-detached bungalows; 32 units of three-bedroom detached bungalows and two units of three-bedroom detached bungalows.

The FHA-Ajoda GRA scheme is a partnership project started in 2020 and is expected to deliver a total of 896 units of various building types.

Also, Ashafa, during his visit to the FHA Housing Estate project site in Osogbo, Osun, known as Crystal Estate, read the “Riot Act”, instructing all the partners to return to the site immediately.

The managing director reiterated that the partners should come up for early discussions on the way forward to achieve the success of the project.

He expressed serious concern over the activities of illegal sale of land by land grabbers that were encroaching into FHA’s parcels of land.

Ashafa urged the South-West Zonal team to do all the needful toward achieving the set goals of the Authority in the zone.
