The Speaker of the Anambra House of Assembly, Dr Uche Okafor, has described Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s appointment as National Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as meritorious.
Okafor in a congratulatory message to Soludo on Monday in Awka, said it was the first time in the political history of Nigeria a professor would be chosen as the national leader of a political party.
According to him, such feat is a great advantage and pride to Anambra .
Recall that on Saturday, a certificate of appointment was presented to Soludo by the APGA National Chairman, Chief Victor Oye, at the party’s National Executive Council meeting in Awka, where members unanimously appointed him as the party’s leader.
He said: ” I have confidence in the ability of the governor to function effectively as the national leader of APGA.
“This is because the indigenous nature of the governor is in tandem with the APGA philosophy which is, ‘Be your brother’s keeper.”
Okafor commended the APGA National Chairman and the Executive Committee for discovering the leadership potential of Soludo, especially in human and financial management.
He urged residents and politicians irrespective of their political affiliations to support Soludo’s administration to bring development to the state.
On the forthcoming general elections, the speaker enjoined APGA members and electorate to reciprocate the giant developmental accomplishments of Soludo in the state by ensuring that APGA candidates emerged victorious.
