The Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Mr. Usman Baba has urged members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) to use their platform to improve security at the grassroots.

A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Thursday in Abuja, said the I-G made the call at the opening of the PCRC National Women and Youths Sensitisation Summit.
The summit has the theme, “Ensuring a Secured and Safe Atmosphere for Nigerian Women and Youths during Election Processes.”
Baba called on the leadership of PCRC to also use their platform to empower local communities to work in tandem with the Police.
The police boss said the idea was to ensure the safety and security of communities and create a more secure environment for everyone.
Baba said the summit was on the role of the electorates, particularly women and youths, in the conduct of the elections.
The I-G called on the PCRC and other Nigerians to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies engaged in election security management.
This, he added, was necessary to ensure robust security before, during, and after the elections.
