Dr. Samuel Nzekwe, the former President, of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), has urged the Federal Government to find solutions to the challenges that have impeded the distribution and sale of fuel across the country.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Ota, Ogun, Nzekwe said that the appeal had become necessary because of the untold hardships the fuel scarcity had inflicted on the Nigerian populace.

The Ex-ANAN president noted that the lingering fuel scarcity and cash crunch had virtually paralyzed economic activities in the country.

“The Federal Government urgently needs to look at the impediment like corruption militating against the availability of fuel across the country.

“In addition, there is the need to repair and resuscitate all the refineries to end fuel importation in the country, “he said.

Nzekwe called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to strengthen its intelligence framework and print more new redesigned naira notes into circulation.

He stressed the need to impose stiffer sanctions on erring banks that were frustrating the success of the newly redesigned naira notes.
