Elections: CP for election duties resumes in Osun

The Commissioner of Police for election duty in Osun, CP Peter Abayomi, has resumed on Wednesday at the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo.


SP Yemisi Opalola, Osun Police Command’s Spokesperson, made this known in a statement, explaining that the CP was deployed in accordance with the resolve of the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman, to ensure a peaceful electoral process in the country.

Opalola added that the CP would be holding a stakeholders’ meeting with registered political party leaders, aspirants/contestants for the Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections.

“The CP is, however, using this medium to officially invite all the registered Political Party leaders, Aspirants/Contestants (Senate, House of Representative and State House of Assembly), to a crucial and strategic stakeholders’ meeting.

“The meeting is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 24, at the office of the state Commissioner of Police, Osun State Police Headquarters, Ring Road, Osogbo, by 10:00am.” the statement reads in part.
