A teenager (name withheld) was on Friday docked in an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing iPhone, speaker, and ear pod.

The police charged the accused, whose address was not provided, with theft.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the crime.

The Prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, told the court that the accused committed the offense on June 10, 2022, at 10.30 a.m. at No 11 Ola’ayeni Street, Computer Village, Ikeja.

Ajayi said that the accused stole the items belonging to Mr. Saheed Owolabi from where it was kept in the shop.

He said the iPhone 13 pro max stolen was worth N800,000, the JBL speaker valued at N105,000, and an ear pod worth N95,000.

The prosecutor said that the offense contravened the provisions of Section 287 of the criminal law of Lagos state, 2015.

The section provides three years imprisonment for the offender.

The Magistrate, Mrs. Fejiro Kubeinje granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties.

She ordered that the home and office addresses of the sureties must be verified.

The magistrate adjourned the case until April 5 for mention.
