Man, 40, docked over alleged  stealing his Coy’s money

Ayodeji Babayemi, 40, was on Thursday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court, Ibadan over the alleged stealing of his company’s money.

Babayemi, whose residential address was not provided, is charged with theft.

The Prosecutor, Mr. Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence sometime in August 2022.

Amusan alleged that Babayemi stole the sum of N500,000 belonging to his company, Ulbra Trade Nigeria Ltd, Agbeni Area, Ibadan.

Amusan alleged that Babayemi, a sales Representative of the aforementioned company converted the money meant for the company’s business to his personal use.

He said the offense contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs O. A. Akande, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.

She adjourned the case until June 15 for hearing.
