The Federal Government and the Republic of Bangladesh are to strengthen bilateral relations by increasing the volume of trade and partnership in areas of natural and technological potential for the mutual benefit of both countries.
The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otumba Adeniyi Adebayo said this when a delegation from the Republic of Bangladesh led by the High Commissioner to Nigeria, Masudur Rahman visited him on Tuesday in Abuja.
The minister said Bangladesh is noted for its potential in textile and garment production and Nigeria would like to tap into your technical expertise.
He urged Bangladesh to always participate in Nigerian trade fairs which provide veritable platforms for entrepreneurs to showcase their potential in Nigeria.
Earlier, the Bangladesh High Commissioner to Nigeria Masudur Rahman emphasized the need for Nigeria and Bangladesh to explore areas of mutual interest to both countries.

Rahman said that both countries can partner in the areas of education, liquefied natural gas, leather production, solid minerals, and high digitization.
He urged Nigerian entrepreneurs to explore the potential in Bangladesh, particularly in the area of textile and garment production, pharmaceutical research, and leather production.
Rahman further said that entrepreneurs in Bangladesh were interested in investing in mining and liquefied natural gas in developing countries, especially Nigeria.
The high commissioner assured the federal government that his country would continue to promote Nigerian investment opportunities in Bangladesh.
Bilateral trade between Nigeria and Bangladesh currently stands at a modest 70 million dollars, with Bangladesh only contributing 20 million dollars as exports to Nigeria.
