EWU - UROMI- AGBOR ROADS GETS ATTENTION AS MEMO FROM NATIONAL ASSEMBLY REACHES MINISTRY OF WORKS, FERMA, SGF OFFICES ...As Hon. Okojie vows to pursue road rehabilitation to actualisation.

The Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Midstream) in the House of Representatives and Member representing Esan North East/Esan South East Federal Constituency of Edo State, Hon. Prince Odianosen Okojie, has reassured Nigerians on efforts embarked on for the immediate repairs of the Ewu-Uromi-Agbor, Auchi-Ewu-Benin Federal Highways in Edo State.

The lawmaker made this known while addressing constituents on the status of the motion he raised during his visit to Uromi for the Edo State Local Government elections.

"I can assure you that, the Federal Government will soon swing into action in fixing the Ewu - Uromi- Agbor Federal roads. The Federal Ministry of Works; Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation respectively, have already received letters from the National Assembly on the need to carry out immediate repair on the aformentioned roads".

Recall, in July 2023, Hon. Okojie, called the attention of the Federal Government to the deplorable state of the Ewu - Uromi - Agbor and Auchi - Ewu - Benin Federal Highways.

The lawmaker emphasized the need for immediate action and urged the Federal Ministry of Works and the Federal Emergency Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) as part of his prayers, to carryout immediate palliative repairs on the failed portions of the highways which has claimed the lives of so many Nigerians.

He also noted that the repair of the roads will alleviate the hardships faced by commuters and possible reduction of traffic caused by the poor condition of the roads. According to him, urgent repairs would help improve safety and ensure smoother travel experiences for motorists and other road users.

In furtherance to this, Hon. Okojie said he followed up the memo sent to the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) by paying a visit to Senator George Akume. The visit which also bordered on strengthening ties between the people of Agbazilo and the Federal Government, had discussions for the quick intervention by the Federal Government on the roads.

While seeking for the needed prayers, support and collaboration, Hon. Okojie noted that his interest in politics centers on the wellbeing and development of his people as he reassured that the nightmare occasioned by the terrible state of the aforementioned Federal Highways will soon be a thing of the past.
