The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Entrepreneurship and Skills Technology Centre (ACCI-BEST) had inaugurated a 10-month transformative training programme in Web Engineering and Machine Learning.
The President of ACCI, Dr Al-Mujtaba Abubakar, while inaugurating the programme virtually, said it would benefit 300 students from the University of Abuja and Baze University.
According to Abubakar, the training is being done in partnership with Divic Corporation, prestigious academic institutions, the University of Abuja, and Baze University.
“Underpinned by the generous support of the Japanese government through the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) endowed course program.
“This initiative promises to equip young talents with cutting-edge skills and knowledge in the fields of Web Engineering and Machine Learning.
“ Participants in this programme will also have the unique opportunity to secure internships with esteemed Japanese companies upon successful completion and graduation,” he said.
The president of ACCI expressed gratitude to the Japanese government for their invaluable support through the AOTS program.
Abubakar appreciated the ACCI-BEST Centre, Divic Corporation, the University of Abuja, and Baze University for their unwavering commitment to implementing the program for the betterment of Nigerian students.
He then encouraged the aspiring students to seize the opportunity to further their careers and personal growth.
Mr. Yuzurio Susumu, JICA Nigeria country representative, acknowledged the pivotal role played by Mr. Ariyo Olanrewaju, an ABE initiative scholar from the 9th batch who facilitated the programme.
Susumualso emphasised the significance of human resource development in nurturing the relationship between Nigeria and the Japanese government.
Meanwhile, representatives from the University of Abuja, Dr Abel Osagiel and Baze University, Prof. Najashi Gafai, echoed their support for the 300 participating students.
The officials urged the students to maximise the potential of this unique educational endeavor.
They expressed their deep appreciation for the collaboration between ACCI-BEST Centre, Divic Corporation, and AOTS in bringing this program to fruition.
Similarly, representatives of the JICE Internship coordinating team and the AOTS program, in their remarks re emphasised their continued support for the program.
They also encouraged the participants to make the best use of the opportunity.
The Director of ACCI-BEST Centre, Dr Tinuke Temitope, provided an insightful overview of the partnership, highlighting its regional significance as a pioneering initiative for Nigerian students.
Also in her remarks, the Director-General of ACCI, Victoria Akai, expressed her gratitude to all stakeholders, both present and represented, for their unwavering support in making the launch possible.
Akai encouraged the 300 selected students to make the most of this extraordinary opportunity to shape their futures.
The collaboration signifies a major step forward in equipping Nigeria’s youth with the skills and opportunities needed to thrive in the global economy.
