The Mpape Axis of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, was thrown into pandemonium as a moving truck crashed into Keke Napep Park killing not fewer than 10 people on Thursday.

Our reporter learnt that the red colour truck which was descending from Mpape hills down to the junction off AYA-Zuba expressway failed break, and rammed into the garage, crushing two cars, four Keke Napep and killing at least 10 people.

According to an eye witness, Mr. Ibrahim Usman, approximately 10 people died in the accident which happened at about 3:30pm.

Usman who was visibly angry while speaking with journalists said, “Those 10 lives are Nigerians who had gone out to look for food to eat. As we speak we are thinking of burying them. You know, this is rushing hour, people are trying to get back to their houses”.

He called on the government to do something about the Mpape road, noting that it has become a dead trap to the users.

“Government should find a solution to this very ugly incident. This road has become a dead trap to everyone coming into and going out Mpape. People are dying every time on this road. Last time, a Tipper killed one pregnant woman here, I saw it live”, he said.

As a result of the incident, the AYA-Zuba expressway has experienced gridlock with officers of the Road Safety Corps and security personnel – Army and police spotted putting the situation under control.

Effort to reach the Road Safety officers on ground proved futile at the time of this report, as details will follow later.
