85 Fits Tallest Christmas Tree, Powered By One Percent International To Be Unveiled In Abuja

Barely three weeks to Christmas, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, will witnessed the tallest Christmas tree ever unveiled in Africa and others.

The unveiling of the 85 fits tall Christmas tree with 5000 lightning bulbs, is powered by One Percent International.

The CEO of One Percent International, Amb. Stephanie Nnadi, said that the anticipated number of people expected at the unveiling of the 85 fits Christmas tree is 80,000 to 100,000.

"We are thrilled to share with you an event that promises to be a beacon of joy, warmth, and unity during this festive season.
"The Jav Christmas Festival, a cherished tradition in the heart of Abuja, has become a symbol of celebration, bringing together families, friends, and communities. As we prepare to embark on this year's festivities, we are proud to present an experience that transcends expectations," she said.
The unveiling, which is expected to hold on December 16th at the International Conference Centre, Art and Exhibition Pavillion, according to Nnadi, will mark historical moment for Africa.
"This day will mark a historic moment for Africa as we illuminate the largest and tallest Christmas tree ever witnessed on the continent—an awe-inspiring 85 feet of festive grandeur.
"The 16th of December will not just be another day; it will be a celebration of monumental proportions. The highlight of the evening will be the historic lighting of the tallest Christmas tree in Africa. Standing at an impressive 85 feet, this magnificent tree is not merely a symbol of the holiday season; it is a testament to the spirit of unity, joy, and hope that defines the Jav Christmas Festival.
Boasting that the event will create a moment that will be remembered for generations to come, Amb. Nnadi said that the nation will "witness the illumination of the Christmas tree as a symbol of unity and togetherness, echoing the festive spirit that binds us all."
She revealed that the day will witnessed an evening filled with joy, laughter, and enchantment, with activities such as carol singing, comedy, guest performances, games and much more.
She said: "The lighting of the 85-foot Christmas tree is not just an event; it's a historical milestone for Nigeria and Africa," adding that the event will be witnessed in three locations like the Transcorp Hilton Maitama, International Conference Centre and LEA Primary School in Gwarinpa.
She said: "With an expected attendance of over 80,000 individuals, this year's festival promises to be the most vibrant and engaging yet."
Narrating the history behind the Christmas festival, the Co-founder/Director of Jav Christmas Village, Jennifer Fatorisa said that when it was started, they had over 15 thousand, adding that the last edition witnessed over 50 thousand people.

She said that they created the Christmas festival to bring family together, adding that the event is not only for Christians but also for others, who are interested in having fun in Abuja.

She added that now that traveling is very expensive, it is a good idea for family to come for an affordable fun. This is even as she called on the tourism sector to embrace this development.

"We are opened up for collaboration. We have been doing this on our own. It is not only a Christian thing, but cut across all religions. It just to have funs. The project cost several millions to execute," she said.

Fatorisa, who explained what they have done on security, transport ahead of the programme, also disclosed how much it will cost to get ticket.

She said: "Our first Christmas village, the ticket was N500, last year it was N3500 and this year, the ticket is N5000. The money covers for drinks. All the games are free, among other things.
