Crisis Hits Obaseki Government ; As CPS in dramatic resignation less than five months after appointment

Mr Andrew Okungbowa, Chief Press Secretary to Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has resigned.

Okungbowa reportedly submitted his resignation letter to the office of the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Osarodion Ogie, on Monday.

Reports said that entreaties made to Okungbowa to rescind his decision were rebuffed.

The reason for the resignation could not be immediately confirmed.

But feelers that reached our reporter indicated that it might not be unconnected with the internal squabbles in the Governor’s media team where unprofessional social media bullies earn more than professional journalists heading the Government media.

Efforts made by our reporter was fruitless to reach Mr Okungbowa and the Commissioner for Communications, Mr Chris Nehikhare as their phone lines could not be reached.
