Mobile Police slumps, dies onboard NRC train enroute Kaduna to Abuja

One of three mobile police (MOPOL) officers [name withheld] attached to the Abuja-Kaduna Train Service (AKTS) slumped and died on Thursday.

The police officer died onboard an Abuja bound train, operated by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).

It was gathered that the security personnel onboard the NRC train died a few seconds to 1.30 pm when the train departed Kaduna.

“They just laid him on the floor and picked up his gun. No medical personnel on board and no call for help, though there are medical professionals on board.

“No effort was made to save him and there was no announcement to call for help.

“The train is still on the way to Abuja,” popular investigative reporter, Agba Jalingo disclosed on Facebook.

The immediate cause of the Mopol’s death is yet to be ascertained.

Efforts to reach the Managing Director of NRC, Fidet Okhiria proved abortive at the time of filing this report.
