The NMS Ex-Boys Association, led by Acting President and Chairman of the NMS 70th Anniversary Planning Committee, Ex-Boy Mohammed Baba Marte, held a meeting with the Chairman/CEO of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. MB Marwa (retd.), on April 29, 2024.

The meeting, which took place at the NDLEA headquarters in Abuja, focused on preparations for the upcoming 70th Anniversary of the Nigerian Military School (NMS). The NDLEA boss, who is an ex-Boy of the 1966 set, is among a large number of distinguished ex-Boys that the Association has been paying courtesy calls on in the build up to the august event.

According to a statement issued by the Director of Publicity/Public Relations Officer of the Association, ex-Boy Izaddin Chafe, Ex-Boy Marte took the opportunity of the meeting to brief Gen. Marwa on the progress of preparations for the NMS 70th Anniversary celebration, scheduled from May 4 to May 20, 2024. Gen Marwa was updated on the various activities planned for the anniversary, including the foundation day lecture, a golf tournament/emblem launch, parade, and other activities.

Accompanying the Acting President were Ex-Boy Hassan Abdul, the Director of Corporate Affairs; Ex-Boy Sanusi Yusuf, the Treasurer; and Ex-Boy Saidu Garba, the Financial Secretary. Also in attendance were executives from the FCT Chapter of the NMS Ex-Boys Association, led by the Chairman, Ex-Boy Ayuba Abdul and Ex-Boy Rasak Owolabi.

In his remarks, Gen. Marwa commended the NMS Ex-Boys Association for their dedication to preserving the legacy of the Nigerian Military School and congratulated them on the upcoming anniversary. He pledged his personal support and that of the NDLEA towards the success of the anniversary celebrations and expressed his commitment to strengthening the partnership between the NDLEA and the NMS Ex-Boys Association.

The meeting concluded with a commitment from both parties to continue working together towards the success of the NMS 70th Anniversary celebration.

The Nigerian Military School Zaria was established in 1954. Over its 70 years of existence, the school has produced alumni who have gone on to excel not only in the military but in multiple other fields of endeavor at home and abroad.
