Following the pronouncement of some Civil Society to protest against the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu led Federal Government on October 1st, FCT Police Command has deployed its personnel to major areas in Abuja.

Speaking to journalists, SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer said they took the strategic action in anticipation of the upcoming October 1st Independent Day celebration, and therefore has deployed adequate personnel and equipment throughout the FCT.

"This proactive deployments aim to ensure that residents of the FCT enjoy a hitch-free Independence Day celebration.

She said the deployment will include Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) personnel, anti-riot equipment, visibility policing, among others.

And said there will traffic diversions in areas expected to experience large crowds, including Central Area and Eagle Square.
