The Kaduna State Sector Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), said it would continue to work with strategic stakeholders to enforce traffic rules and regulations in the state.

The Sector Commander, Hafiz Mohammed gave the assurance at a press briefing on Thursday in Kaduna to commemorate the International Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Crash Victims.

“Through our collective efforts, we will be able to change people’s attitude to road usage and the hazard that victims of road traffic crashes go through,” he said.

Mohammed added that the best way to reduce traffic crashes was for motorists to pay special attention to their personal safety while driving.

“I urge members of the public to show concern for the plight that victims of road traffic crashes and their families, friends and loved ones suffer by avoiding infractions that could undermine their safety.”

According to him, the briefing is to formally flag off a week-long event beginning from Nov. 18, to enlighten the public on the need to make Nigerian roads safer.

He said that it was also to highlight the impact of road traffic crashes, including loss of precious lives and economic destructions.

The sector commander noted that the 2021 commemoration was also to enable people to reflect on the sanctity of life and enlighten road users on the dangers of overspeeding.

The week-long event will include media chat, special Jumm’at prayers and Church service, as well as visit to hospitals.
