NGO empowers 160 youths in marketing, branding, packaging

An NGO, Project One, has trained and empowered 160 youths on digital marketing and branding as well as packaging of agricultural products.

Convener of the NGO, Mrs Bisayo Busari-Akinnadeju, said this at the graduation and prize-giving ceremony after a three-week digital marketing and product as well as branding and packaging training.

Busari-Akinnadeju said that the training and empowerment was part of the NGO’s goal to continue to impact the society positively.

According to her, the group is striving for positive impact through sensitisation, awareness, training, re-training and empowerment in any form that will bring growth, development and sustainability for the youth.

“In continuation of our goals to collaborate and empower Nigerians, we have completed within the last quarter of 2021 the training of 160 Nigerians.

“All the 100 of them are trained on digital marketing, while 60 are trained on branding and packaging of agricultural products.

“In total, we have more than 50 women which is laudable, owing to the fact that these women made quite an impression in their interest, zeal and commitment throughout the training.

“We are proud that these people will no longer see their various ventures as ordinary, but will henceforth engage their businesses in a new dimension and with better understanding on how to grow and excel,” she said.

The convener further said that the organisation was working on modalities to ensure continuity of the programme in Lagos and Abuja offices as well as improve on its space to accommodate more people in future.

However, beneficiaries of the programme commended the group for its initiative to train and empower youths on ways to make wealth, earn a living, grow, develop themselves and be self-sustained.

Another speaker, Ms Egbinta Cecilia, urged the government, other NGOs and kind-hearted Nigerians to emulate Project One by giving back to the society, especially through investment on youths’ capacity development.

Also, Mr Nurudeen Mohammed, a beneficiary, lauded the sponsor of the programme and prayed for its continuity for the benefits of other young entrepreneurs in the society.

Another beneficiary, Ms Nancy Amarachi, also called for sustenance of the programme and its expansion to accommodate other aspects of entrepreneurship.

Amarachi listed other aspects of entrepreneur to include: cinematography and photography, sounds and lightings, creative thinking and writing as well as proof reading and editing.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the training is funded by a private organisation in the national and international cooperation and development sector.
