The suspended Chief of Sansani in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba, Alhaji Abdulmutalib Nuhu, has returned to his palace, six months after his suspension by the Taraba Government.

The return of the 3rd Class Chief followed his clearance of all wrong doings by a committee set up by the state government to investigate a petition against him.

Nuhu was received by a mammoth crowd on Monday in Sansani, including Gasol local government Chairman, Alhaji Musa Chul.

In his speech, the local government chairman commended the chief for his patience and tolerance during the period of his suspension.

Chul noted the response of the people of Sansani as exhibited by their large turnout to give the chief a rousing welcome, showed how much he was loved by his subjects.

He explained that the chief was only suspended not removed as being peddled by some mischief makers.

“After investigation he was absolved of all the allegations, and the Executive Governor, Arc. Darius Ishaku has directed that he should return to his seat”, the council chairman said.

Chul urged the chief to accommodate all the people of Sansani irrespective of their views and political affiliation.

The chairman also urged Nuhu not to see anyone as an enemy, but strive to embrace and carry everybody along.

He appealed to the people of Sansani chiefdom to embrace peace and cooperate with their leaders to bring about the desired development to the area.

In his remarks, the Director Chieftaincy matters in the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Enock Danmusa said the crowd that heralded the Chief’s return was a clear indication that he is loved by the people of his domain.

He appealed to the people to shun unnecessary petitions, saying it only create distraction instead of uniting the people for a common good.

A community leader, Alhaji Muktar Ajuji, advised the state government to hasten the demarcation of the boundaries between Sansani and Gassol Chiefdoms, to address the recurring conflicts in the area.

He charged security agencies to be proactive in handling security challenges in the area before they escalate.

In his response, Nuhu called on his subjects to embrace peace and support the developmental efforts of the state government.

He thanked Gov. Ishaku for the just manner he investigated the allocations erroneously levelled against him, adding that his return was a sign of better days ahead for the chiefdom.

Nuhu said he has forgiven all those who ganged up against him and instigated his suspension, and urged anyone that felt offended by any of his past actions to forgive him.
