A Presidential aspirant on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Mr. Adewole Adebayo, has pledged to strengthen the unity of the country.
Adebayo said this when he spoke with newsmen shortly after he addressed party supporters in Kano on Thursday.
He said that the unity of Nigeria was sacrosanct because of its importance in the comity of nations.
“My first job if elected as president is to strengthen the unity of the country because you don’t need money or any budget to do that,” he said.
Adebayo also promised an inclusive government in running the affairs of the country to ensure a sense of belonging to all parts of the country, if elected.
He said that he decided to join the presidential race because of his desire to improve the living conditions of Nigerians, especially the poor.
He also promised to equipped security agencies with the necessary equipment to enable them to carry out their constitutional duty of protecting the lives and property of the citizenry.
“The people I am representing are not looking for money, but they want light, water and above all, they want their children to remain in school and sleep with their two eyes closed.
