Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Works has urged the State Power Agency to synergise with Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) to ensure adequate power supply in the state.
That will improve the well-being and standard of living of the people of the state.
Mr Abdulazi Danladi, the Chairman of the committee, made the call when the management of the Agency appeared before the committee on its 2022 budget assessment on Wednesday in Lafia.
Danladi said that an adequate power supply would also boost the socio-economic activities and revenue base of the state.
” This will further improve the standard of living of our people and others,” he said.
He lauded the agency for ensuring power supply in the state and emphasised the need for more consolidation for the economic prosperity of the people.
The chairman said the committee decided to invite the agency to assess its 2022 budget performance.
” This is not a witch hunt as the constitution empowered us to oversight your agency,” he said.
Danladi underscored the importance of electricity to the socio-economic development of the society, hence the need for the committee’s support in that direction.
He assured the agency of the support for the successful discharge of its duties due to the importance of electricity to societal development.
Earlier, Mr Yakubu Loko, the General Manager of the Agency, thanked the committee for giving its attention to the organisation to succeed.
