President Muhammadu Buhari has requested the Nigerian Senate to speedily consider approving the N895 billion supplementary budget request sent to the Chamber.
Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, read President Buhari’s letter of request during Tuesday plenary.
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) had earlier approved the sum.
A substantial part of the amount has been earmarked for the procurement of military hardware to prosecute the war against insurgency and banditry.

The Federal Government is also expected to use part of the amount for the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines and other health-related needs.
Recall that President Buhari had in April submitted a supplementary budget to the National Assembly to request for more funds to tackle insecurity across many parts of the country.
