National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police, rescued nine victims of human trafficking in Kano.

The Zonal Coordinator of NAPTIP in Kano, Mr. Abdullahi Babale, said this in an interview with the media in Kano on Tuesday.

Babale said that two suspected human traffickers were arrested in connection to the case.

He said the victims were taken from the Southern part of the country and were rescued while heading to Libya, for labour exploitation.

Babale said the victims were all female, aged between 19 years and 55 years.

He said that the suspected traffickers would be arraigned in court, while the victims would undergo rehabilitation before being reunited with their respective families.
