Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri says Nigeria will be better developed if the Judiciary is accorded the needed freedom to operate.

The governor said this Monday in Yola during the swearing in of the first female Chief Judge in the state, Justice Hapsat Abdulrahman.

Justice Hapsat Abdulrahman is the most senior judge in the Adamawa State judiciary after the state's chief Judge, justice Nathan Musa retired early hours, Monday.

This necessitated her swearing in by the state governor to head judiciary affairs in the state as Chief Judge.

Governor Fintiri congratulated her on attaining the level in her  career but admonished her to discharge her duties devoid of sentiments and corruption

In her response, the new Chief Judge, justice Hapsat Abdulrahman thanked the state government for the confidence reposed on her and promised to deliver.

Justice Hapsat Abdulrahman is the first female to hold the position of a chief Judge in Adamawa State having taken over from the fourth substantive chief Judge of the state, Justice Nathan Musa who stepped aside Monday.
