Minister of information and Culture Lai Mohammed has described the controversy over four nominees as Resident Electoral Commissioners on account of their membership of the ruling party and alleged corruption, as Media trial by those who he describes as Social media warriors.
Minister Lai was responding to questions from State House Correspondents after the weekly executive council meeting.
He says the allegations have not been proven and those kicking against their nomination should wait for the process of screening by the senate when relevant questions would be asked.
The current controversy over the submission of the names of the four nominees to the Senate comes barely one year after the controversial nomination of Lauretta Onochie who is a presidential aide, and card-carrying member of the APC.
