The crisis rocking the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, may have worsened with some members of the National Working Committee, NWC, writing the national chairman of the party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, and informing him of their decision to return the housing allowance paid into their accounts from the party’s coffers.
The development came a few days after a media report claimed that members of the PDP NWC were miffed over alleged depletion of the N10bn the party made from the sale of nomination forms.
The report alleged that Ayu in a bid to pacify the NWC members paid the sum of N28m to each of the members.
Some NWC members have however started remitting various amounts to the party claiming that that the national chairman did not inform them about the funds paid into their accounts until it was reported in the media.
The NWC members who returned the money are the National Vice Chairman - South-West, Olasoji Adagunodo, the Deputy National Chairman, South, Taofeek Arapaja; the National Vice Chairman, South, Dan Orbih, and the National Women Leader, Stella Affah-Attoe.
