Lieutenant Commander Ibrahim Baba-Inna RTD, the gubernatorial candidate of the People's Redemption Party (PRP) in Adamawa State has called on Christians and Muslims in the state to pray for a peaceful conclusion of the forthcoming governorship election slated for Saturday, April 15th, 2023.

The March 18, 2023 governorship election in the state had been declared inconclusive after INEC ruled that the cancelled votes were more than the margin of victory between the top contenders.

In a press statement made available to the media, Ibrahim Baba-Inna enjoined Christians who are in the season of lent and Muslims who are observing the Ramadan fast to pray for the peaceful conduct of the election.

He emphasized the need for every individual to place Adamawa State first before any party interests, and to ensure that a peaceful, violence-free supplementary election is held.

"I call on all parties to play politics with decorum and a strict observation of the electoral guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure transparency, fairness, and credibility of the supplementary elections.

"I also urge my fellow citizens to report any irregularities to the appropriate authorities for prompt action to be taken, and to stay away from all forms of violence and disorderly conduct during and after the election," he said.

Babainna implored all the good citizens of Adamawa State to embrace peaceful coexistence before, during and after the election as the state cannot afford to witness violence, destruction of properties, and loss of lives that may result from an unhealthy electoral process.

He urged Muslims and Christians to pray for the success of Adamawa State and the peaceful conclusion of the governorship elections. Let INEC, Party faithfuls and the voting public, be impartial in the process, and let us show the world that elections in our great state of Adamawa can be conducted without recourse to violence and thuggery. He wished everyone the best of luck as we head towards a peaceful and credible supplementary election," Lieutenant Commander Ibrahim Baba-Inna RTD said.

"I thank everyone for their support and anticipate a free, fair and credible conclusion of the electoral process that will usher in a new level of peace, progress, development, love and prosperity to Adamawa State," he concluded.
