25-year-old emerges youth leader of PDP

A 25-year-old man, Prince Mohammed Kadade Suleiman has emerged as the National Youth Leader of Nigeria’s main opposition party known as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Suleiman who was elected at the ongoing PDP Convention in Abuja, garnered 3,072 votes out of the 3511 cast, to beat Usman el-Kudan who got 219.

His victory has been hailed by many who described it as a good step in the right direction of youth political participation in Nigeria.

Timeline.ng gathered that Suleiman hails from Kaduna. He is the son of late Dan Wakilin Zazzau, grandson of Sarikin Nasarawan Doya and also the traditional title holder of Santurakin Nasarawan Doya.

He is said to have made his foray into politics at a very young age as an active member of the PDP and had represented the party at different levels.

Before his emergence as PDP National Youth Leader, Kadade reportedly wooed party leaders, notable among whom are former governors of the party and also former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
