A former Governor of Zamfara, Sen. Sani Yerima, will not impose Sharia Law on Nigerians, if elected as the nation’s president in 2023.
His Personal Assistant, Mr Oluyemi Olusina, made this known on Wednesday in Ibadan, at the launch of Yerima’s Presidential ambition.
The group, on the platform of Yerima Support Organisation (YSO), stormed Ibadan on Wednesday to solicit support for the former governor’s presidential bid.
Olusina said that no fewer than 10 million supporters across the country had volunteered to work for the emergence of the former governor as president in 2023.
He said Yerima was not desperate to become president in 2023, adding that Nigerians would decide his fate.
“We have 10 million members in our database already.
“We are launching his presidential ambition here in Ibadan, because it is political headquarters of the South-West.
“As we speak now, people have been donating cars, phones and valuable things to our group to support his ambition,” he said.
Commenting, Alhaji Aminu Bature-Kuchere, the Sarkin Yaki Yerima, said that people of Zamfara enjoyed the dividends of democracy during the time of Yerima as the Governor.
Bature-Kuchere urged Nigerians to support the presidential ambition of the former governor for the prosperous and betterment of the country.
Some Yerima’s supporters present at the event, told newsmen that he was the best man for the job in 2023.
