The organisers of the 5th Edo Heritage Sports Festival and Carnival, yesterday said about 2,800 persons are expected to participate in the forthcoming sporting event slated for November in Edo state.
The Chief Executive Officer, Heritage and Sports Colony International, Omoyemwen Adeyinka-Afolabi, said the event is geared towards building the talents of youths, promoting Nigeria’s rich culture and encouraging girl-child participation in sports.
Addressing journalists in Benin City, Adeyinka-Afolabi said the eight-day event which will take place at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, will feature entertainment, culture and varieties of sports competition.
She said the Edo heritage sports festival and carnival is in partnership with the Edo State Skills Development Agency,an intervention agency under the Edo state government.
