Norway and Manchester city's top striker Erling Haaland's agent has predicted the Manchester City striker will become football’s first £1billion player.

The EPL defending champions signed Haaland for a bargain £51.2million in the summer after triggering the release clause in his contract at Borussia Dortmund, and the 22-year-old has scored 20 goals in 14 games for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta believes the prolific Norwegian’s market value is going to rocket in future judging by comparisons to other stars such as Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain.

Meanwhile, Guardiola says he wasn’t surprised by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s recent comments about City’s spending power.

Klopp’s claim that Liverpool cannot compete with the wealth of City’s Abu Dhabi owners sparked a war of words between the two clubs following an equally feisty encounter at Anfield last Sunday that saw Liverpool inflict the champions’ first defeat of the season.
