Enugu State will compete in nine Sports with 42 athletes at the 2022 National Sports Festival (NSF) in Asaba, Delta.

The athletes and 13 officials left on Tuesday for Asaba.

The Director of Organising, Ministry for youths and Sports, Mr. Boniface Onovo, said the contingent comprised 42 athletes, nine coaches, and four support staff to make it 55.

“Enugu will compete in nine sports which include, Athletics, Wrestling, Boxing, Judo, Tennis, Weightlifting, Para-athletic Para-Powerlifting, and Cycling.

“We are going with sports we have comparative advantage and we believe that they will fetch a medal,” he said.

The festival which will begin on Nov.30 will end on Dec. 10.
