Igali lauds performance of wrestlers at Gov. Diri classics in Bayelsa

The President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali, on Tuesday lauded the performance of the nation’s wrestlers at the ongoing 2nd Governor Diri National Wrestling Classics in Yenagoa.

Igali, who commended the high level of wrestling from the various states and clubs, noted that the future of wrestling was bright as the level of competitiveness in the tournament had increased.

He stated that despite the fact that high profile wrestlers were yet to take to the mart, the tournament had lived up to expectations.

The Nigeria Wrestling Federation president expressed optimism of hosting more classic matches to give world medalists, Olympic medallists, commonwealth champions and African champions the opportunity to entertain Nigerians.

Igali added that Bayelsa should expect great performances from Blessing Oborodudu, Mercy Genesis, Esther Kolawale, Odunaye Adekuoroye, Amas Daniel, and others.

He called on the good people of Bayelsa to come out en-masse to watch international wrestling as bouts continued on Wednesday with reigning African champion and festival champion, Ebi Biogos, in action in the 72kg category.
