Super Eagles: NFF Should Have Kept Finidi George- Philip Shuaibu

Edo State former Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaibu, has faulted the Nigeria Football Federation for not being patient with Finidi George during his time as Super Eagles coach, as he expresses doubts on the competence of a foreign coach.

Shuaibu delved into issue about Nigeria football after captaining NUJ football team in the ongoing NUJ Correspondence Football Tournament, in Abuja.

He cited his own administrative skills and patience at Bendel Insurance as an example, stating that he didn't sack the Technical Crew of the team during a deep in form, a decision that paid off with the team eventually winning a first Federation's Cup title after 43 years in 2022/2023 season.

He outlines creating the right environment and instilling discipline as intangible assets better than hiring a foreign coach for the Super Eagles.

Recall that Finidi George resigned as Super Eagles coach less than two months into the job after poor results.
