The Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Samuel Ocheho, says he is happy that handball is gradually coming alive again under his watch.

Ocheho who doubles as the President of the Confederation of Africa Handball Zone 3, said on Saturday in a monitored online section with newsmen that handball needed sponsorship in Nigeria.

He said that with the corporate world actively involved in the sport, it would take the sport to the next level.

“We are developing and we need the cooperation of everyone to take the game to the next level,” he said.

Ocheho also stated that, emphasis was on the development and enhanced growth of the sport in Nigeria and Africa.

“This is a call to duty and our emphasis will be on the development and growth of handball,” he said.

Ocheho said that he would introduce unprecedented innovation that would make Handball one of the growing sports in the country as against years of neglect.

“We will also create awareness on the essence of handball and how it can be used to empower our youths in the region to creater heigh” Ocheho said.
