Nigeria’s Super Eagles beat the Pharaohs of Egypt 1-0, courtesy a Kelechi Iheanacho 30th minute goal, in their opening Group D match in Garoua at 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.

The Eagles indeed put up a more determined performance against  a Muhammad Salah led Pharaohs side to take home the maximum three points at stake. 

The result puts the Eagles in a solid position in the group as they seek to book a place in the next round of the ongoing AFCON game. 

Apart from scoring the winning goal, Kelechi Iheanacho was voted the man of the match. Though, several pundits had tipped Moses Simon to have emerged the MOM winner.
