Super Falcons’ goalkeepers Chiamaka Nnadozie and Tochukwu Oluehi joined the team’s camp on Sunday as they prepare for the 2022 African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) qualifier against Cote D’Ivoire.
Oluchi Tobechukwu, the team’s media officer, disclosed via her Twitter handle that the players joined camp on Sunday afternoon to increase the number of players in camp to 22.
Nnadozie plays for Paris FC of France while Oluehi turns out for Maccabi Kishronot in Israel.
The team is still expecting other foreign-based players, including Desire Oparanozie, Francisca Ordega and Asisat Oshoala.
Meanwhile, Oshoala has continued with her scoring form, getting on the scoresheet in Barcelona Femines’ 3-0 win against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday in the Spanish Primera Iberdola.
Thirteen more players are expected to make up the total of 35 invited by coach Randy Waldrum ahead of the fixture against Cote D’Ivoire.
The first leg of the fixture is billed for Friday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, with the return leg scheduled for Feb. 23 in Abidjan.
Winners of the fixture qualifies for the 2022 AWCON in Morocco in June, with the continental event serving as the qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
