Embattled Chairman of the League Management Company (LMC) Shehu Dikko is again in the eye of the storm after he demanded that SuperSport Television anchors who dared to criticise the way and manner he is running the NPFL.
Anchors of Naija Made programme on SuperSport – Chisom Ebonu-Ezeoke, Aikhoje Ojeikere and Ralph Chidozie George – knocked Shehu Dikko for being sentimental and tribalistic in his decisions on major issues concerning the league.
They provided several examples, like an offence committed by a club from southern part of the country were sanctioned with a three-game banishment, while Wikki Tourists from the northern part of Nigeria got off lightly with a game played behind closed doors for the same offence.
Shehu Dikko did not find this criticism amusing and promptly called on the management of SuperSport in Nigeria to fire the experts.
And when that did not work, the vindictive Shehu Dikko took his vendetta to the SuperSports head office in South Africa.
The big shame was that he was simply told by SuperSport that their staff members were only doing their job professionally and they stand by them.
