This alternative approach reverses what is the norm: taking the news to social media platforms, and instead, makes our platform itself social in the nature of the social media platforms.

Timeline.ng's core role is news community management,  bringing together seasoned journalists, ethical bloggers and media units of organisations and setting up aggregation, submission and collaboration systems, thereby crowd-sourcing credible stories that would otherwise be impossible to cover.

In an era of distributed journalism and the adoption of technology in various new forms, we strive to build a reputation of integrity, amplification of facts and establishing a community with a common interest in creating and distributing news that is trustworthy.

Every content contributor therefore is bound by the need to deliver on the promise of our medium and bears the responsibility for fact-checking their content. Content that convey any of the following are completely prohibited: falsehood, profanities, nudity, lewdness, unsubstantiated attacks against persons and institutions, piracy and plagiarism.

As part of measures we take to protect the credibility of the profession and of our medium and also to protect the minds of our readers from harmful content, we reserve the right to immediately discontinue our relationship with any content partner that violates any of our guidelines where such a partner refuses to be professional in their conduct.

Such discontinuation includes a permanent disabling of the partner's account and all prior content associated with it.

While content contributors populate the community section, the core team is responsible for maintaining content that are selected for use on Timeline.ng Home.

Timeline.ng's management team on its part also employs every effort to build promote the brand and drive recognition and respect for it and its contributors using every public and private forum.

In addition to general coverage of newsworthy content, we will pay special interest to lending our collective voice to issues related to Employment, Education, Women, Youth, Agriculture, Technology, Health and The Arts. By drawing special attention to these areas, we aim to contribute our quota to national development. The membership of our editorial board will therefore at all times, constitute progressive minds with interest in these sectors.
