The management of Godfrey Okoye University says it will do its best to assist the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in its programs.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Rev. Fr. Christian Anieke, made the disclosure in a statement issued in Enugu by the university’s Acting Public Relation Officer, Mr. Godwin Umeh, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday.
The statement quoted Anieke to have made the pledge during the 2023 ICAN conference, held at Peter Mba Law Auditorium of the University Enugu from February 15 to February 16.
It explained that it had become compulsory for all teaching staff of the Department of Accounting of the institution to belong to accounting professional bodies such as ICAN.
The university also directed its Accounting students to belong to the association to be able to benefit from its activities.
