Nigerian Idol: Simi explains absence for 2 weeks

Sensational Nigerian singer, Simi has opened up on why she has not been on the reality singing competition, Nigerian Idol.

Simi, a named judge on the new season of the popular television reality show alongside D’Banj took to her Twitter handle @SympLySimi on Monday to reveal that she decided to take a break from the show because she was not feeling well.

The revelation which was in response to a tweet by one of her fans read: “I’ll be back boo. I wasn’t feeling good and the auditions are not live recordings. Pls enjoy the guest judges in the meantime.“

Nigerian Idol Season 7 began airing from February 6, 2022.

The reality singing competition has produced some of the biggest music acts in the country including Timi Dakolo and Omawumi (when it was referred to as Idols West Africa) and break-out gospel singer Mercy Chinwo. Kingdom Kroseide won last year’s edition.
