Lagos govt., PPFP launch online platform for knowledge sharing on health

The Post Pregnancy Family Planning project (PPFP), the Lagos State Ministry of Health (LSMOH) and Health Facility Monitoring Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA) have launched an online platform to enhance effective knowledge sharing on health-related issues.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the online platform tagged Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child Adolescent Healthcare and Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) web of resources was launched on Tuesday in Lagos.

The platform domiciled on HEFAMAA’s website would ensure easy access to current information on healthcare services and best practices for healthcare providers.

Speaking on the project, Dr Omotunde Odunye, Technical Officer for service delivery, PPFP, said that the initiative was due to defend for a web of resources by the private sector.

Odunye said that the platform would make it easy for them to access any resources and submit data.

“They were submitting data by paper before now but with this platform, it is easier, faster and less hitch.

“This development is going to be sustainable as long as all stakeholders work together by ensuring continuous upgrades,” she said.

Also speaking, Mrs Abosede Adekunle, Head ICT, HEFAMAA, said that the Lagos State Government was capable of sustaining the project.

Adekunle also advised PPFP to back up the project for the next two years to achieve total success.

“The platform is going to be useful in the health sector, we have tested it, necessary corrections have been made.

“It is going to benefit both the state government and private sector that are healthcare providers,” she said.

Mrs Aigbogun Florence, one of the beneficiary private health providers, said that the project had impacted more knowledge and strengthened awareness about family planning.

“We want this project to be sustained with my experience in the health sector, this project has been one of the best and we want it to stay,” Florence said.
