President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday approved the appointment of 35 Nigerians as heads of agencies and programmes in the Ministry of Humanitarian Development and Disaster Management, federal commissioners of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and Board members of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) respectively.
They were conveyed in separate statements signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale.
"To facilitate the needed relief to Nigerians and ensure the effectiveness of humanitarian and social development programmes, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of seven qualified Nigerians to head strategic agencies and programmes under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development," one of the statements sighted by Timeline News read.
It listed the following Dr. Badamasi Lawal as Chief Executive Officer, National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA). Dr. Lawal holds a doctorate degree in education, and he previously served as a commissioner in Katsina State.
Ms. Funmilola Olotu was appointed as Programme Manager, National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office. Ms. Olotu holds a master's degree in business administration, and she is the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on state lotteries.
In the same vein, Ms. Aishat Alubankudi is now the Programme Manager, Grant for Vulnerable Groups. She holds a bachelor’s degree in community development and has experience as a risk assessor and financial manager.
Princess Aderemi Adebowale takes office as the Programme Manager, Home Grown School Feeding. She is the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement and previously served as a local government chairperson.
The National Cash Transfer Office now has Mr. Abdullahi Alhassan Imam as the Programme Manager. His previous experience includes serving as chief accountant, Northern Dairies Ltd, and as a bank manager.
Mr. Ayuba Gufwan is the new Executive Secretary, National Commission for People with Disabilities. Mr. Gufwan holds an LLB and is the Executive Director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre, Jos.
The last appointment made under the ministry is that of Ms. Lami Binta Adamu Bello who is now the Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons. She has served as the Secretary-General of ALGON, and Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, as well as Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
"The President expects the new heads of these critical agencies and programmes to discharge the functions of their offices with utmost integrity and diligence so as to ensure that Nigerians, especially vulnerable groups, are the exclusive and direct beneficiaries of his administration's reconfigured welfare programmes," Ngelale said.
For the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), the names of the new Federal Commissioners are as below:

The appointments of the Federal Commissioners are subject to confirmation by the Senate.

"The President expects the new members of the board of this pivotal institutional vehicle to be dedicated and committed to driving TETFund's objective of providing the needed support for tertiary education with a view to enhancing the productivity and quality of higher education," he said.
