Unbelievable : NDDC Forensic Report On N81.5bn Spending Is Untraceable...Engr. Momoh, Niger Delta Minister

The Minister of Niger Delta, Abubakar Momoh, has announced that the forensic report on the N81.5 billion allocated to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) between January and July 2020 is currently missing.

Momoh made this revelation during a Channels Television interview on Tuesday.

He expressed surprise that the report was not available at the Ministry upon his assumption of office.

The Permanent Secretary and other officials were unable to locate it.

Despite this, Momoh assured that efforts are underway to recover the report and make it public.

He emphasized that those implicated will face appropriate consequences.

“We are committed to locating the report and ensuring it is presented to the government for action. Those found responsible will not escape justice. We will exhaust all avenues to find the report and hold the accountable parties responsible. The report will be made available to Nigerians as soon as it is recovered,” Momoh stated.

In 2020, the National Assembly witnessed significant drama when then-Minister of Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio (now Senate President), testified before the House of Representatives Committee regarding the N81.5 billion expenditure. The session was notably marked by the fainting of the then-acting MD, Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei, and the now-famous phrase “honorable minister (Akpabio) off your mic.”

Since presenting the forensic report to former President Muhammadu Buhari in September 2021, there has been limited information about its implementation or findings.
