The Inspector General of Police Mr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has said the descent into looting and destruction that was witnessed on the first day of the planned nationwide protests is directly attributed to an absence of leadership, a disregard for advise provided by the force based on available intelligence and a disregard for court orders exercised by some of those who participated in it.
Leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Delta State Chapter, has directed its members in the state not to participate in the planned nationwide protest tagged #EndBadGovernanceinNigeria, scheduled to commence August 1st across the country.
